Chapter 106 Another Strong NPC
Arthur was starting to feel that something was really strange about Roran town.
It didn\'t help that the information from his past life was not a help here either.
\'Just what kind of thing happened for the NPCs to change…\' Arthur wondered.
Even for the players who had arrived here in his last life, the NPCs weren\'t of much concern. They just considered a normal town like other games and made use of the facilities that were present here. Other than that, they didn\'t attempt to look much into the NPCs.
Or even if some were curious, they wouldn\'t be able to do that as they simply wouldn\'t have the skills to tell the level of the NPC or obtain more information. And if someone tried to do it forcefully, they could very well end up offending the NPCs and get punished.
When the detailed information was finally obtained, it had already been a long time since the launch of the game thus the demographic of the town had changed.
What Arthur was getting was fresh information that was unknown to all.
For now though, he simply decided to wait and watch.
"I don\'t have stuff for you today, but I did bring someone who does." Geran said before pointing to Arthur with his thumb.
"Oh?" Melcher looked at Arthur who was carrying a lot of items and was intrigued. "Looks like you brought some goods for sale. Come on in," the man invited Arthur.
"Yeah," Arthur said before walking in along the man.
"Give him some good prices, Melcher. He seems to be the first adventurer to have come out of Kestrel Village." Geran added.
"Is that so? Well then, I\'ll have to give him a first time bonus haha." Melcher laughed.
"I\'ll leave you to it then, Arzhur." Geran said before turning around.
"Bye bye, Arzhur. See you sometime!" Aaron said before following after his father too.
With the duo gone, Arthur entered the shop that already had a few people looking at the items for sale.
Melcher came to a stop at the counter and spoke, "let me take a lot at what you got."
"Sure," Arthur quickly placed his rucksack down and took out all the items he had stored in it.
But he wasn\'t done just yet.
He next placed the pelt of the Giant Dire sewer rat and unrolled it, revealing the rest of the items that were packed in it.
"You sure got a lot of things…" Melcher was a bit surprised. "Give me five minutes." He said before checking all the items that Arthur had brought with him.
Arthur had a lot of loot that included the materials he had harvested from the Razer Tusk Boar, the Giant Dire Sewer Rat, the Twelve Pronged Deer, Adult Black Scruff Wolf Leader as well as the other mobs he had killed along the way.
After five minutes, Melcher was done with his appraisal and spoke again.
"I wouldn\'t have thought a newbie adventurer from the village would be able to hunt a Razer Tusk Boar and even the Adult Black Scruff Wolf Leader." Melcher said with a hint of surprise. "You even managed to harvest them in a decent manner." He added.
"I tried my best." Arthur replied.
"Still, it is commendable." Melcher said. "I can give you Two Gold and six Silver coins for everything except the Head of the Adult Black Scruff Wolf Leader. You\'ll need to hand in the head at the guard captain\'s office. The people there handle the bounties given officially." He stated.
"That\'s fine with me." Arthur nodded his head. \'I didn\'t expect to get this much… this is at least twenty percent more than what I would normally have gotten. Seems like Geran\'s recommendation came in handy.\' He thought.
"Alright, let me give you the cash." Melcher got some coins from the locked drawer and placed them on the countertop.
There were eight coins, two gold and six silver.
It was a big amount for Arthur right now and he was hoping to buy some things with it soon enough.
\'I might be able to get a few extra supplies too with this.\' He thought as he picked up the coins.
>Player Arzhur has obtained 2 gold and 6 silver coins. Total funds are at 2 gold, 77 Silver coins<
"Do you wanna buy anything?" Melcher questioned.
"Not right now. I need to meet the guard captain first. Maybe later." Arthur answered.
"I\'ll look forward to your visit then." Melcher replied before Arthur left the building.
He quickly headed to the next location that was the Guard Captain\'s office. It was in a building just a couple minutes from where he was and was possibly the most secure area.
There were guards standing outside its entrance as well as patrolling around it. The guard barracks was located next to it as well, which made it obvious as to why there were so many guards there.
It was the last location anyone would dare to attack and most would fear to even think of doing anything illegal here.
There was no lack of players who had been caught and punished because they did something silly here. They were soon taught about the strength of the guards, as well as the extra consequences that came with it.
After all, the authority held by the Guard Captain was second highest in the entire town. Only the Town mayor could supersede that, but he may not be stronger than the guard captain.
Thus, players had to be very careful when they were around a guard barracks or the place where the Guard Captain lived.
"Halt!" The guards outside the office quickly stopped Arthur, who had already expected it.
"I believe the Guard Captain has already been made aware of my arrival." Arthur spoke. "I\'ve brought information for him as well as a letter from the Village Head of Kestrel Village."
"So its you." Hearing Arthur\'s words, the guards parted. "Go on in and head straight down the corridor." They instructed.
