Chapter 478 478: Chaos Lord: Hunting Pack
Chapter 478 478: Chaos Lord: Hunting Pack
His ChaosLord skill was in his Divination stat, Cole was not so sure how well that would synergize with a giant animal Mecha. He was puzzled, Lyren was a heavy hitter so it stood to reason that he should be attached to a stat and skill with devastating combat potential.
But the Chaos Pup would not want to be in any other stat other than the one that had his chaos Lord skill attached to it. But much more than that, Cole now had a second chance to look at it and realize he might have messed up a bit….after all, if his control over chaos, which admittedly he has used quite well should go to the Divination stat, which only made him see the future then he was screwed.
"it doesn\'t matter it\'s the divination stat, just put me where I belong master." Cole rolled his eyes at Lyren as he did as the pup had asked.
[The Entity \'Lyren\' Is And Advanced Life Form! Both Weapon And Treasure Slot Would Be Used! Proceed?]
Well that was an unexpected curve ball to their planes but Cole did not think it would stop or slow him down. But even at that he also knew that the pup would not let that stop Cole from doing what needed to be done.
[You Have Slotted Chaos Animech Into Divination Stat\'s Weapon and Treasure Node! You Have Unlocked The Chaos Wolf Boon!]
[Boon: : +20% to senses, all active Divination techniques carry chaotic wolf aura to do damage.]
[As you have attached an Animech into your divination stat! You have a 200% chance to comprehend, a chaos wolf based ability from before the bond.]
[You Have Comprehended Chaos Lord Technique: Hunting Pack!]
[Chaos Lord: : summon a pack of illusory chaos wolves that can attack, defend and scout on behalf of their summoner. The wolves have 30% of their summoners total defense, and can\'t to more than 2 kilometers away from their summoner.]
Well isn\'t this amazing, this was a skill or technique rather than Cole did not have before now. And it wad scouting skill, beyond that with enough training and mastery, he would send a few wolves hunting after his enemies. But the comprehension of this technique had been instant, the very moment he had attached Lyren to the Divination Stat.
But this was still an amazing skill and he could see how it meshed well with the divination stat and the Chaos Lord skill. This was not a combat skill even if it had that potential, but rather an extremely powerful utility skill, Cole had no idea how far he could push it, but without his company of the wolf around, with this he had an army that he could fall back on at a moments notice.
Cole closed his eyes and felt for the technique, understanding the intricacies of it in seconds. Cole wouldn\'t go as far as calling this a technique regardless of what the system calls it. Much like his StormCalling technique, Cole quickly realized that the Hunting Pack technique were spells. Or worked similar to it.
The technique of storm calling required him to summon storms, where those storms are coming from he has no idea, but the HuntingPack technique created a bridge between a Cole\'s and Lyren\'s Soul. Aka between Cole and Deraka! And then it dawned on Cole that he never knew what happened to his [Summon Deraka] skill.
He had not paid attention to it, but regardless Lyren\'s soul was in fact Deraka\'s or a piece of it. So the Chaos wolves are summoned parts of the eldritch chaos wolf. Cole took a deep breath and pulled on the bridge as a black and red spell circle appeared in front of him, he furrowed his eyebrows a bit as he felt an intense drain from the pit of his stomach.
But it was not for long as the spell circle grew to the circumference of about 4 meters before pulsing and vanishing leaving two four foot tall energy wolves. They were red and black, and glowed with their respective colors as purples electric eyes stared right back at Cole.
There was some intelligence in their eyes, hit these wolves are constructs. No feelings to fall back on, but very efficient and connected to Cole for as long as he can provide the energy to keep them tethered to the material plane. The energy expenditure for both of them however was massive, however Cole regeneration could keep up with the drain, even surpassing the rate of reduction. However should he attempt to summon another wolf, then perhaps he would not be able to maintain the technique for longer than a few minutes at least…..for now anyways.
And then there was the boon. Chaotic wolf aura, he had no idea what that meant, he couldn\'t tell because the only other technique that he had from his divination stat had not even been Comprehended yet, so he no idea just what this Chaotic wolf aura thing was, but no matter. Even with just the ChaosLord skill alone, Cole had significant amount of control over chaos, enough to infuse it into his other skills and techniques just as he used to do before level 100 or his ascension as the system calls it.
So with Lyren in the Divination stat, it was time to worry where Black Malakai, Azazel, and Methuselah would go. It would have been best for Azazel to be in the Divination stat, but with the Chaos Lord skill already attached to it and Lyren there, there was no use. So now he had to pick out what stat the weapons would fit into more from what was left.
Nobility, Psionic, Cosmic, Animus and Kinetic. Without even wasting time to think too much around it, Methuselah would be going to the Animus Stat. It just seemed more likely for a life weapon to be slotted into the stat that controlled life and death.
Azazel would have to be Psionic, it would have to rely on the fact that his Psionic ability was more ingrained with technology seeing as the skill there was Technopathy the legendary arch-angel would be most definitely at home there, and then finally the bread and butter of his combat abilities….Black Malakai.
With Chaos Lord and Divination out of the way, that left only Nobility, Cosmic and Kinetic. Of the three, Nobility was subtle and more about manipulation and mind manipulation etc.
Cosmic was all about control and wide spread attacks, something that BlackMalakai was already very good at. And then there was Kinetic. The skill attached to it was more for movement and teleportation, but the sheer potential of the stat was something that he was already hung up. The longer he kept fighting, the motions from his movement, the stronger his attacks would become.
Black Demon Swordsmanship was all about a cascade of precise, weak points aiming attacks. Mostly focused on the joints, the center mass of the body and could be used with almost any other weapon, as a secondary, even a shield. And the secondary was mainly for deflecting and parrying, however both could be used to drown an enemy in swift precise movements.
Cole had never really focused too much on the caveats of the art, but with Kinetic and the RiftStrider skill, Cole could attack from any direction, and with Black Malakai\'s ability to infuse Rot into any wounds it makes, anyone on the other end of the BlackDemonSwordsmanship would die a rather slow and very painful death.
So that was that, the right choice to make for his stats. Cole realized that he could not be as lackadaisical about this as before. He already felt that he had made a mistake by putting the ChaosLord skill into the divination stat., invariably he would have to find a way to make it work, but Cole truly felt like he had weakened his most powerful asset by slotting it into the divination stat.
So now he had to really think this through, this did not seem like there would be a going back on any of his choices. And it was not like he would get a second chance like this again. This was what the system was for him right now, it was what the system would be for the rest of humanity going forwards. He could not afford to be rash with his choices, especially when it came to something that would have determine his life and death.
"Don\'t think too much about it master, just go with your instincts and do what your gut tells you. It hasn\'t steered you wrong yet you know." Lyren\'s voice cake from behind Cole as the pup floated in the air. Cole agreed with the Pup, there was no reason to over think his choices.
He has thought about it, admittedly not long enough to be sure about his choices, but enough to decide for now as there wasn\'t enough time…after all….he was still being hunted.
