Chapter 906: A Secret

The breeding of the Dragon Demon’s food was smooth. Over at the moor, there were thousands of Feiyi Beast. The Lu Family dispatched several Earth Immortal Realm warriors over to capture the Feiyi Beasts which were sent to chosen moors. Many low-level Xuan Beasts were delivered for the Feiyi Beasts. They grew quite used to their respective locations. Soon, the Feiyi Beasts settled down.
Tall walls were built outside the moor. Troops were stationed here to prevent people from coming close. Numerous forces were filled with suspicion, wondering if the Lu Family was working on some secret plans…
Feiyi Beasts had adjusted to their new habitats. They had no natural enemies and limitless food. Their reproduction could be fast.
After all, Feiyi Beasts did nothing other than to eat and sleep. It was only natural that they would grow up quickly. Feiyi Beasts were not of high rank, which meant that they had a higher rate of reproduction. The more powerful the Xuan Beasts were, the harder their reproduction would be. Patriarch Eight was confident that in a few months, he could harvest a lot of eggs.
Patriarch Eight decided to build some formations to collect Xuan Energy so that the Feiyi Beasts could grow up faster.
Lu Li did not concern himself with the Feiyi Beast. He went to the Inferno to cultivate on his own. He did mean to cultivate, only to avoid being seen in such a dejected state. He also intended to get his mind off the sorrows through cultivation.
It was surprising that even in sorrow, Lu Li was cultivating incredibly fast. He would learn a small component of the diagram every 10 days. He did not engrave the components into his Bead of Life though. He planned to study them all and then engrave them in one batch.
Last time, he was in an unfavorable position when he studied the big diagram that led to the Feather Wind castle. He engraved the small components one by one as he studied them, which resulted in the failure of engraving the last piece.
This time, he decided to study one large diagram and then engrave it in. This way, he could avoid another event where he could not integrate the components.
Two months had passed while he was cultivating. In this time, Lu Li studied seven small components, progress that surprised even himself.
During these two and a half months, Ye Cha was still searching for Lu Ling, but he gained nothing. There was one thing that could be confirmed, though. Lu Ling was not taken away by warriors from the nine universes or Lu Li would have been threatened by now.
Feiyi Beasts were growing up quite well. A large number had been raised. Some more Feiyi Beasts were found at the Cyan Plains and Ocean Plains. Patriarch Eight had collected thirty to forty thousand Feiyi Beasts by now. In a few months, the number would be doubled. By then, he could harvest eggs to feed the Dragon Demon.
The Inhibition Formation built in the towering mountain in the Inferno was triggered by someone. The patriarchs of the Shadowland Race that was guarding in that area were alarmed. They soon checked with psychic power. All dropped to their knees at once when they opened up the Inhibition Formation.
Lu Renhuang had come back!
He asked the patriarchs of the Shadowland Race as soon as he arrived. Knowing that Lu Ling was abducted, Lu Renhuang pulled a long face. He flew toward the base camp area instantly.
Lu Renhuang had not reached the Semi-God Realm, but he was powerful. Patriarchs of the Shadowland Race believed that Lu Renhuang should be at the peak of the Human Sovereign Realm, one step away from the Semi-God Realm. The Prison of Ice was really a land of blessings for Lu Renhuang.
Several days later, Lu Renhuang arrived at the base camp. Jiang Qiling, Ming Yu and many others went to greet him. Lu Feixue could not help but cry.
Jiang Qiling woke Lu Li up. He welcomed Lu Renhuang into a room and let others go. Lu Li wanted to keep what they were going to discuss a secret from others.
After Lu Li activated the Inhibition Formation, Lu Renhuang forced a smile and asked, “You have already known something, haven’t you?”
“It’s true then…”
Lu Li’s face clouded. He looked at Lu Renhuang and continued, “I have but I cannot believe it. My sister and I do look alike. Also… if she is not my sister, then why didn’t anyone speak of this matter back at the Di Long Tribe?”
Should Jiang Qiling and the others listened to this discussion, they would have been shocked. Lu Li was saying that Lu Ling was not his sister? In other words, Lu Ling was not Lu Renhuang’s biological daughter. She was adopted.
Lu Li had asked Lu Renhuang to come back just to make sure!
Lu Li had such an idea because of what that young warrior that took Lu Ling said
‘After 20 years, we have finally found you!’
More than 20 years ago, Lu Ling was just born. Who would look for Lu Ling for such long? The only possibility was her family or relatives!
That powerful warrior that abducted Lu Ling might seem young. But the Slayer appeared to be young as well.
If that man could achieve such a high realm in his younger years, this accomplishment would give him a long-life span. Which meant that he could live for hundreds of years without much change to his appearances.
Take Lu Li as an example. His looks didn’t change much at the age of one hundred. He had a life span of thousands of years. Compared to that, one hundred years were short.
To put it another way…
The young man that took away Lu Ling might be her family or even… an elder member in her family! Otherwise, he wouldn’t have looked for her for over 20 years.
Therefore, it was possible that Lu Ling was not Lu Li’s sister. Hence, he asked Lu Renhuang to come back at once so as to seek confirmation.
Still, there was one thing that escaped Lu Li’s understanding. If Lu Ling was not his biological sister, then why didn’t anyone mention it at the Di Long Tribe?
Lu Renhuang explained, “The year Ling-er was born, your mother and I were in the Ice Abyss. I had recovered from my injuries, but I needed another piece of the herb. For fear of losing your mother to my enemies, I took her outside of the Ice Abyss where we lived for over a year. When I was fully recovered, I went back to the Di Long Tribe with your mother and your sister. That is why nobody had any suspicions….”
“No wonder!”
Lu Li understood it now. But he had another question, “Was my sister born… outside the Ice Abyss? Where is her mother? Did you see her?”
“No!”
Lu Renhuang shook his head. “When we passed by, your sister was all alone in that frozen and snow-covered world. She had nothing on. It was evident that she had just been born. But she did not make a sound, very quiet and adorable.”
“Just born? No clothing? How is that possible?”
Lu Li was greatly stunned. The Ice Abyss was covered by snow all year long. It was excruciatingly frigid. A newborn baby not dying from such coldness? What was stranger was that she did not cry?
“It is possible!”
Lu Renhuang sighed. He cast a glance to Lu Li’s neck and asked, “Didn’t you ask me about that animal tooth pendant and where it is from?”
“The animal tooth pendant?”
Lu Li was taken aback. He was confused, “Didn’t you say it is a legacy of the Emperor of Heaven Reverse? So.., it belonged to my sister?”
“Yes!”
Lu Renhuang nodded, “That animal tooth pendant did belong to your sister. Your sister had no cover on her and the only thing she was wearing was that animal tooth pendant. Maybe it was the reason why she was not frozen to death.”
“Um…”
Lu Li trembled in shock. He asked, strained, “Then why did you give it to me and lie about it being a legacy of the Emperor of Heaven Reverse if the animal tooth pendant belonged to my sister?”
“I lied because I don’t want to hurt your sister’s feelings.”
Lu Renhuang said, “I was going to keep this a secret for my entire life if your sister hadn’t been taken away. It has been so many years, but your sister’s family did not come for her. I told myself that they were not coming at all. I wanted to keep it from her because she would be upset if she found out. After all, her parents abandoned her since she was a baby…”
