Chapter 90
Chapter 90
Su Lin wrapped his arm around Xiaoyu’s waist, “Of course, to see my Xiaoyu.”
“Hehe, did Xiaowan send you away?” Xiaoyu asked, half-joking.
“How could she send me away?” Su Lin responded.
Xiaoyu nodded knowingly, “With your little antics, Xiaowan surely must have chased you out.” After saying this, Xiaoyu playfully slapped Su Lin’s hand.
“Er… What antics? How’s the company’s finances?” Su Lin asked, sitting in Xiaoyu’s chair and pulling her to sit with him.
“Well! The supermarket’s daily turnover has crossed a million, nearing two million on the busiest day. I calculated that our monthly profit is at least twenty million,” Xiaoyu explained, admiringly looking at Su Lin.
“Hehe, twenty million a month, over a billion a year, just from one supermarket. It’s unbelievable,” Su Lin remarked.
Xiaoyu agreed, “If I wasn’t directly involved, I wouldn’t believe a supermarket could make a billion in a year.”
Su Lin thought it’s no wonder retail industries loved opening supermarkets due to the huge profits.
“Daxia Bank called, suggesting we store our funds with them,” Xiaoyu reported.
“Did you agree?” Su Lin asked.
“Of course not, I’m just the finance manager, you’re the big boss,” Xiaoyu said, poking Su Lin playfully.
“You’re the boss’s wife; what do you think we should do?” Su Lin asked, raising his eyebrow.
“I think we should wait before agreeing. When the company expands in Donghai, Linhai, Modu, and Sucheng, we’ll need a lot of money. We could negotiate a partnership with them beforehand and get an interest-free loan to ease the pressure,” Xiaoyu suggested.
“You once said we’ll burn millions daily in a price war with other companies, so our current earnings won’t be enough.”
Su Lin ruffled Xiaoyu’s hair, impressed, “You’re amazing, Xiaoyu, thinking so far ahead.”
“Hehe, you’re the visionary. I just expanded on your ideas. And you said a successful company should owe money to the bank.”
Su Lin nodded, “Exactly. With our current revenue and cash flow, any bank would welcome us, so let’s keep them waiting and get a larger interest-free loan later.”
“Yeah, Zhongjiang is also offering enterprise support funds this year, worth millions. We could apply for that too,” Xiaoyu added.
Su Lin teased, “You’re so good at managing money, Xiaoyu, considering everything. Truly a wise partner.”
“Not really… Xiaowan is the real wise partner. I can only help you spend money well, but Xiaowan can help you save,” Xiaoyu modestly said.
“Don’t sell yourself short. Xiaowan is great, and so are you, no less than her,” Su Lin reassured.
Xiaoyu felt warm inside hearing Su Lin’s words, hugging him sweetly. “Su Lin, Xiaoyu, time for lunch.”
“Oh, coming!” Xiaoyu hurriedly got up and checked around.
“You don’t need to be so nervous, Xiaowan won’t make a big deal even if she sees something,” Su Lin said with a light laugh.
Lin Xiaowan’s affection for him was already at 99, a threshold. Su Lin knew that if it were anyone else, she would have been furious, but with Xiaoyu, she would likely glare at him, not Xiaoyu.
Xiaoyu didn’t listen to Su Lin, instead opening the door, “Xiaowan, what’s for lunch?”
“I don’t know, we’ve tried almost all the snack shops in Zhongjiang,” Lin Xiaowan said, somewhat troubled. “Su Lin, why don’t you choose what we have for lunch?”
Hearing the suggestion, Su Lin casually responded, “Let’s have home-cooked dishes then. Xiaowan, Xiaoyu, what do you think?”
“No problem at all.”
“I think it’s fine.”
“Should we invite Chen Yang too?”
Su Lin shook his head, “No need. He’s still in Tangbei District, probably won’t be back at the company until late.”
Chen Yang had already found locations for the remaining six stores, three of which were already purchased, and the other three were in negotiation. Now such matters could be handled by Chen Yang’s team without Lin Xiaowan’s intervention.
“Speaking of which, Xiaowan, Xiaoyu, you’ve both been busy for so long, and I haven’t even paid you yet.” Looking at Xiaoyu, Su Lin said, “Xiaoyu, draft our salaries later, let’s tentatively set it at twice the store manager’s salary.”
“Really, Su Lin? Can I get a salary too?” Xiaoyu asked excitedly.
Su Lin nodded, “Of course. You’ve been busy for so long without pay, that’s not fair. The company is doing well, we definitely can’t miss your salaries.”
Lin Xiaowan also smiled. Though she never thought about getting a salary for working with Su Lin, his mention of it now made her happy. It was their first time receiving a formal paycheck.
“Xiaoyu, when do we pay the employees?”
“Chen Yang set it for the 10th of every month.”
“Let’s go shopping with our first salary right after the college entrance exam, on the 10th next month. How about that?”
“Sounds great! Where shall we go, Donghai?”
The nearest city to Zhongjiang was Donghai, large and lively.
“Let’s not go to Donghai. Since we’re already planning to move there, how about Suzhou or Modu? It’s just a few hours’ drive,” Lin Xiaowan suggested.
Su Lin smiled, “No rush, we still have time before the college entrance exams. We can decide later.” “Mm-hmm~!!”
The three of them headed downstairs together, with Su Lin thinking about the protagonist in Donghai still waiting for him. Since Lin Tian was set on bringing him down, Su Lin knew he couldn’t deal with him as simply as he did with Ye Feng.
“If Lin Yourong survives, he will surely be a strong backing for Lin Tian. So, it’s better to let the accident happen.”
Su Lin knew from the information he had gathered that Lin Tian quickly ran out to make a phone call after an exam. He felt there was a chance to make a move there.
Preventing Lin Yourong from receiving the call wasn’t feasible, as it would alter his schedule and cause a butterfly effect. So, it would be easier to ensure Lin Tian couldn’t make the call.
If the call failed, Lin Yourong’s death would be certain, and it would seem like an accident. Without Lin Yourong’s support and Zhao Yanyan’s help in business, Lin Tian’s strength would be greatly reduced, making it easier to deal with him.
“Su Lin… Su Lin…”
“Ah! What is it, Xiaowan?”
“You seemed lost in thought. What were you thinking about?”
“Oh, just something on my mind. Xiaowan, did you need something?”
Lin Xiaowan glared at Su Lin, her big, Cardelan eyes stirring something in his heart. “I was just discussing with Xiaoyu about choosing majors for university. I wanted to know your opinion.”
Su Lin shrugged, “My opinion is to fully support whatever you two want to do. I’ll unconditionally support any decision you both make.”
Lin Xiaowan: “…”
“I should have known better than to ask. It’s pointless.”
“Hehe.”
